Mr. Christopher Brooks


Christopher Brooks is currently a senior level social studies teacher at Souhegan High School in Amherst, NH as well as a professor of ethics and leadership at Northeastern University, Boston, MA.  At Souhegan, Brooks teaches ethics to seniors in a unique college credit program founded in 1997.  Since 2007, Brooks has taught courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level for Northeastern University and Swinburne University, Melbourne, Victoria Australia.  In addition to his work at Northeastern and Granite State College, Concord, NH, Brooks holds an appointment at Merrimack College, North Andover, MA as well.  This past fall, Brooks began working with the University of New Orleans Alexis De Tocqueville Project and received an appointment as an affiliate professor of philosophy at the University of New Hampshire Durham.  In all of these situations, Brooks teaches philosophy and ethics as well as works as a director, consultant and grant writer.

In 2003, Brooks was awarded the Humanities Teacher of the Year award in the state of New Hampshire. That year, he was also awarded a New Hampshire Excellence in Education Award through the NH Humanities Council.  In 2006, he was a recipient of a New Hampshire State Humanities Grant to further citizenry and education throughout New Hampshire. In conjunction with Brooks’ work on HYPE, Brooks has been the faculty founder and coordinator of the Ethics Forum at Souhegan High School, a student leadership team of seniors who center their work on projects in the community and region. Spring of 2015, Brooks was given the distinction of being honored as one of the most influential “forty humanities heroes over forty years” in the state of New Hampshire by the NH Humanities Council and governor.  Brooks resides in Nashua, NH with his wife, two children and yellow Labrador Retriever Wally.

Mrs. Kelli Braley

Kelli is the co-advisor for the Souhegan High School Ethics Forum, Amherst, NH.  Kelli teaches Latin. Braley also is the Souhegan High School field hockey coach.
