LEAP: Leadership Empowering Authentic Progress

LEAP is a day-long conference that introduces the study and the authentic work of leadership to high school students. Founded by the Souhegan High School Ethics Forum, Amherst, NH and the University of New Hampshire Manchester spring of 2014, LEAP is determined to make a difference in the lives of students by giving them the opportunity to refine their leadership skills and return those skills to their own communities and schools.

Uniquely designed for the high school student, LEAP accomplishes this goal through introductory leadership seminars led by experienced leaders, leadership instructors from both the university and high school arenas and accomplished student leaders currently involved in on-going projects of their own. Using this special opportunity, students then begin the process of identifying and analyzing their project while working in breakout groups with their peers in a small seminar style setting. LEAP challenges all students regardless of their background, their developing goals and aspirations to become aware of their own leadership potential.

Sponsored by HYPE and UNH Manchester, this conference will be planned for fall of 2017.  This program is free but there are only 250 slots available for students.  Those schools who are interested in reserving student spots for next fall should contact Christopher Brooks at the following e-mail:
